14th of September Patch
This patch upgrades the Summoner job drastically. Do not worry too much about the finer details if you are new to being a Summoner, just play as normal and you will soon get the hang of the more complicated matters.
Learning the new way to play a Summoner:
Patch message snippets:
"The effect of Enhancing Magic will wear off upon entering areas with level restriction or battlefields related to those areas."
This does not apply to level 20 mini avatar battles.
"The macro command <pettp> can be used to view a pet, wyvern, or avatar's current TP.
The charmed pet's TP decreasing, while it is not in the combat mode, is by design."
As your avatar melees, its TP will increase, and the higher the
the TP is the more damage some of your blood pacts will do. Also while
your avatar is not meleeing, its TP will slowly decrease.
"Avatar TP will now affect the damage of select magical Blood Pact attacks. Just as with normal player TP, after the attack, the avatar's TP will be reset to zero. Avatar TP does not affect physical, enhancing, or enfeebling Blood Pact techniques, and thus will not be lost after an avatar uses one of these abilities."
The avatar TP will be lost if the avatar is put away or the TP is used by a blood pact. TP is not used by physical, enhancing or enfeebling blood pacts.
"The damage and accuracy of several avatar attacks have been adjusted."
Some of the blood pacts now do much higher damage.
"Avatars can now participate in skillchains and magic bursts by carefully timing the use of the ability "Blood Pact."
As well as the increase in some of the blood pacts damage, they can also be used in skill chains and magic bursts for damage bonuses.
